A company based in Dorset claims it faces a 'major loss' after buying 18,000 T-shirts with the message 'England, World Cup winners 2022, it's finally home', after the Three Lions suffered quarter-final heartbreak against France.
England were beaten 2-1 by the reigning world champions in the last eight in Qatar, with captain Harry Kane missing a late penalty which would have taken the game to extra time.
Karl Baxter, managing director of Poole-based Wholesale House Rubbish Clearance (http://waste-king-house-clearance.co.uk) UK, has claimed his company have been left with thousands of t-shirts printed to mark England winning the tournament for the first time since 1966.
Wholesale Clearance UK claim to have 18,000 England World Cup winners t-shirts in stock
The Dorset based company are now seeking to sell the products for a reduced price of £9.99
'I'm absolutely gutted that England has been knocked out of the World Cup,' Baxter said in a press release.
'I have been really impressed with England's performance in Qatar and was sure they would win this year's tournament.
When approached by a supplier to sell the shirts, I simply couldn't say, 'No.'
'But now I've been left with 18,000 shirts that say they've won, Waste Clearance and I'm not sure what to do.
'I'd like to appeal to England fans to purchase one of the shirts, to keep it as a piece of history and a reminder of how well our team played throughout the tournament.
'While they haven't won, they are still winners in my eyes.'
England suffered quarter-final heartbreak at the World Cup in Qatar on Saturday
A post advertising the t-shirts on the company's website had read 'Once we deal with the French on Saturday 10th - there will be no stopping the English juggernaut...or at least that's what we think!
'We are so confident that England will win the Cup this time round, we are pre-releasing our unique shirts'.
England captain Harry Kane's missed penalty was vital as England suffered a 2-1 loss to France
The company had initially listed the t-shirts for £29.99, House Clearance but is now attempting to sell stock at £9.99.
Wholesale Clearance UK has previously received wrongly printed #FreeBritney t-shirts and sought to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK after selling a rude Christmas jumper.
Aurelien Tchouameni had given France a first-half lead in the quarter-final, with his long-range effort beating England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
Kane equalised from the spot in the second half, before Olivier Giroud headed France back in front with 12 minutes remaining of the contest.
France will face tournament surprise package Morocco in the last four, as they seek to become the first nation win back-to-back World Cups since Brazil in 1962.
The winners will face either Argentina or Croatia in the final on Sunday.
